Walgreens, the best known of Walgreens, announced a joint statement Thursday to address the concerns raised about the cost of generic celecoxib (Celebrex) capsules. It is now available on the Walgreens website, as it is the only generic version of Celebrex (celecoxib capsules) that is approved by the FDA.
The FDA is considering whether to approve Celebrex capsules to treat chronic pain or inflammation. While the FDA is expected to consider these drugs before approving them, the company has asked the Consumer Health Group of the Federal Trade Commission (FHT) to comment on the specific question they consider.
Celecoxib, which is used to treat ulcers and other stomach problems, is considered by the FDA to have a low risk of causing serious and potentially fatal problems. In 2004, the FDA warned that Celebrex caused stomach problems and increased the risk of heart attack and stroke.
Celebrex is only available with a prescription, but the company has not yet announced any plans to switch to generic Celecoxib capsules in the future.
Celebrex is currently available on the Walgreens website under the generic name Celecoxib, although the generic version is available on the website under the name Celecoxib capsules. Walgreens has also announced that it will be making a $5 off Celecoxib to its customers. The company will also have a customer service representative on hand to help fill the prescription.
“We are pleased that Walgreens is now able to offer Celebrex on Walgreens and our customers will be able to access the generic version of Celebrex,” said Lisa Bonenberger, Walgreens’s senior vice president of global product and development. “We will continue to work closely with our customers to provide them with the appropriate information and treatment options for their pain and inflammation.”
Celecoxib capsules are available in 50 mg, 75 mg, and 100 mg doses, and they are available in a blister pack, packaged for blister packs, as well as a caplet, which can be opened for easy swallowing. Celecoxib capsules are available in 200 mg capsules.
The FDA has also noted the increased risk of stomach bleeding in some patients taking celecoxib and other NSAIDs. Celecoxib capsules can cause serious gastrointestinal bleeding, and the FDA is now considering whether to approve these drugs. The agency is considering whether to take celecoxib capsules.
“While these concerns are concerning, it is important to remain aware that the benefits of Celebrex outweigh the risks,” said Janet Woodcock, the FDA’s acting Commissioner for Consumer Affairs.
“We are pleased that Walgreens is now able to offer Celebrex on Walgreens and our customers will be able to access the generic version of Celebrex,” Woodcock added.
The FDA has also asked the consumer health group Consumer Health Group for comment. The group has been in touch with the FDA about the safety and efficacy of Celebrex in some of its customers. The agency is also planning to hold a safety conference in August to discuss the issue.
Last year, Walgreens posted the first price drop of Celecoxib for arthritis pain. The company’s price fell to $3.64 a bottle of 100 mg Celecoxib. The price was also dropped by $0.03 a bottle of 50 mg Celecoxib. Walgreens now sells only the generic version of Celecoxib.
“I’m concerned about the overall health of the consumers who are taking this drug,” said Jennifer Rubin, director of the Consumer Health Group. “I know some people who have heartburn, stomach pain, or even some who have a stroke, and these are some of the signs and symptoms that are associated with this medication.”
Celebrex, which was once the only prescription-only drug for arthritis pain, can cause serious gastrointestinal bleeding. A study has shown Celecoxib is more likely to cause these events than Celebrex. Patients taking Celecoxib also reported experiencing bleeding in the stomach, intestines, and upper and lower abdominal areas. Celecoxib is also not approved for the treatment of arthritis pain.
“People who have a history of stomach ulcers should not take this medication,” the FDA said in a statement. “This is not an approved drug, and the FDA has not approved any new drugs for the treatment of stomach ulcers.
